Bamboo Fence Project

This was pretty much a whole Summer Project and took about 2 years of saving to get the project done. Bamboo material was bought one year then a year later the rest of the materials were purchased.

All lumber used was green treated for exterior use in addition to being stained with Pitsburg Stain from Menards. Bamboo Came in 6 ft X 8 ft rolls and also had to be treated. 4X4 posts were put into the ground 4ft to get below the frost line. This is to prevent shifting due to seasonal changes.

Yep those are the rolls of bamboo in the shed. They all had to be opened and power washed then treated.
Posts were coated twice with Pitsburg Stain from Menards.

A to Z Rental was a life saver. Post Hole digger came from them. Rent on a Friday night and get it for the whole weekend.

I don't care what they say this machine is not single man operation. We both fought with the darn thing. Plus they did keep giving us dull auger blades, so we ended up sharpening them with an angle grinder.

Each post hole not only went down 4 ft but also had a 60lb bag of Cement thrown in.

Yep that is a 1967 Jacobsen Rider resurrected from the dead... He he he

The idea I came up with to get the last post up close to the house was this 6 in X 6 in angle Iron piece bolted to the foundation and then lag bolted to the 4x4. This worked beautifully, and yes this maybe a little overkill but who cares. lol Iron cost me $70.00 for the both. To reinforce the gate I welded in rebar from corner to corner.
